Day 2: Traveling Through History in Dayton, OH

"The first time it was a tragedy the second time is a farce. Outside it's 1933 so I'm hitting the bar."   -1933 by Frank Turner Day Two of our trip featured a little less driving and a lot of history!  It was an easy, three hour-ish drive from Cleveland to Dayton on the highway.  After two days on Ohio highways, we came to the conclusion that the roads in Ohio are worse than PA (despite the fact that we all love to gripe about our roads at home).  RJ decided the "Construction Zone Ahead" sign is the state sign of Ohio.  However, we didn't get stuck in any traffic and we made it to our destination - the National Museum of the United States Air Force - just a little after noon.   RJ has been to this museum twice before, but he really wanted to visit again.  It was obvious why - the place is huge!  There are four separate buildings all attached that are themed after different periods of history or types of planes/craft.  We

"There's a road outside Columbus, OH Feels like I drove along for years. That midwest way of ease, it surrounds us I can't deny the rhythm here." -Road Outside Columbus - O.A.R. We just couldn't get "The Road Outside Columbus" out of our heads as we traveled into Ohio for the first two days of our cross-country road trip.  We spent a lot of time on those roads in the last two days!  It took us about six hours to get from home to Cleveland for Day One, and another three hours on Day Two to get from Cleveland to Dayton.  We've traveled approximately 600 miles so far and spent about $60 on gas.  Gas prices are pleasantly a little lower here in Ohio - we've paid anywhere from $2.45 - $2.55 since we've been here.  When we first crossed over into Ohio, we laughed at a digital road sign that read, "Great Scott! Watch your speed, McFly!"  Google is a great way to pass the time on the road, so we quickly learned that q

"We're taking on the world today  You're by my side it helps to be crazy  Taking on the world today  Don’t you ever get tired of being so lazy  Taking on the world today  Slow down the pace, life is amazing  Taking on the world today  Hey hey" -  Taking on the World Today - O.A.R. For those who don't know us, we are Kerri and RJ.  We are high-school sweethearts who grew up and got married and love to go on adventures together.  Our adventures take us many places and include many different modes of travel.  We like off-roading in our Jeep Wrangler as well as RJ's Triumph Tiger 800.  We enjoy cruising on the paved roads on RJ's Honda Magna and Kerri's Kawasaki Ninja 250.  Most recently, we traded in our practical Subaru for a little, two-seater...a Mazda MX5 (Miata), which is the ultimate road trip vehicle!  This summer, we are fulfilling RJ's dream of driving cross country in a conver
